I Love Thursday #106 Abundant Blessings
This is the 106th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Four-square block! I subscribe to Missouri Star Quilt Company’s daily email blast. I’m not sure why I do because it just sends me daily temptations of fabrics that we should buy but don’t need. Included in the emails are also tutorials for videos of their free patterns and how to make them. This 9-patch block made with charm packs and some yardage looks like fun to me. Being the nice person I am, I thought I’d share the temptation and see if anyone else wanted to make it?!! The block and video are called Four Square.

Love #2
Elmo socks! Enough of the serious stuff! I am hoping Andrea doesn’t see this, but I know full and well that she will. Aren’t these just the cutest socks for a sweet boy? Sesame Street socks with all the fun characters but especially Elmo. In theory, these are for Dominic for Christmas. But seriously, who wants to get SOCKS for Christmas from Auntie Sue and Auntie Rose?!! Good grief. So I would suspect he will be wearing these by the weekend.
Love #3
Non-calorie cake! My friend, Mary Ringer sent this along with the Ripples blocks sent earlier this month. Isn’t it just so darn cute?!!
Love #4
Picture overload time! Dominic is giving his Mickey Mouse big wheel another try. He is great at going backward. Uncle Billy was tossing him up high and that smile says everything. Higher, Uncle Billy. Higher! Next is their happy place, a.k.a. Barnes & Noble. Dominic was on stage and was certain that the singing of the Itsy Bitsy Spider song was just for him. Dominic and Addison do spend a lot of time together: playing little people on the table in the living room, checking out the sippy cup drawer, or sending some special prayers to my sister on her procedure day. But Dominic does NOT appreciate his sister sitting in his highchair at our house. For.any.reason. He parked himself on the tray and gave his grandma a disgusted look – why is she sitting in MY chair? Addison didn’t care. Let me see if I can open the case on this old phone. Eating a new snack that is vanilla/cinnamon crunchies need to be inspected by our sweet Addison. She kind of likes that texture, thank you very much. Finally, Addison is r.o.c.k.i.n.g. the bellbottom pants in the last two photos. Gosh, she is so sweet. ♥ ♥ ♥
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
I’ll take a cake WITH calories, please. And I always knew that bellbottoms would make a comeback! Enjoy the rest of your week!
That is so cute to see the bell bottom pants on Addison. When my older son got a tricycle from his grandfather, it was a big upgrade on his old one. He was about Dominic’s age, and they put blocks on the wheels so he could reach the pedals. That boy could go around and around the living room … backwards only! LOL, but he eventually figured it out and so will Dominic. Now the socks, I have to disagree Aunties! Fuzzy socks are my favorite Christmas present – or any reason present. My younger son has presented me with a few this summer – enough to keep my toes warm all winter! Too bad the Sesame Street socks don’t come in adult sizes. LOL
I love socks, the brighter the better (surprised??), so I’d love a pair of Elmo socks, wouldn’t you? Cute kiddo pics, of course! I’ll be waiting to see that quilt all done and finished — next week 🙂
Those babies keep grandmother so young and energetic! Precious babies!
As always, wonderful loves!!
those blocks are really cool looking- I need to save that somewhere for when I’m up for a piecing project. I always find myself needing a pieced quilt for something (a baby or something) and without inspiration. I know there are tons of great patterns, I need to start a pinterest specifically for them so I can find them when I need them!
I so love the socks-they just make me smile. I am so bad at buying Thomas Christmas presents during the year and give it to him right away cause I know it will make him happy. I no longer get the MSQC daily but instead get Friday’s tutorials. It became too costly. heehee.
Amen to both of those happenings! We have a hard time not giving Dominic and Addison anything, and I have a hard time not ordering from MSQC. ~smile~ Roseanne
I’ve always liked to wear fun socks, so those Sesame Street socks grabbed at my sock-loving eyes. I hope they brighten everyone’s day. Those kids are just so fun, especially Dominic sitting on the high chair tray. Haha!
Great likes! Love the photo of the two of them together and love the bell bottom pants 😀 Going backwards on a big wheel means that at least he is GOING! LOL! Have a great day!
Those bell bottom pants are the cutest thing ever on the cutest gal ever!!!
What silly socks. 🙂 I like that cake!
Hello Roseanne, Sorry but no, I get the great tempting emails from MSQC and am always tempted by their fabrics and quilt tutorials. This one though is not one of them. Sigh…. Could just be because of all of the UFO’s I am trying to complete before the end of the year. Absolutely loved looking at all of the great photos of the kiddo’s. Thank you for sharing and have a fantastic day!
I get those emails from MSQCo, too, and I usually want to make every one! They (Jenny?) have the best ideas, don’t they? The Elmo socks are so fun, as is your calorie free cake – that’s a cute block! I like the photo where it looks like Dominic is about to whisper a very important secret to Addison!
Jenni, socks, Birthday Cake and cuties! What great loves and with those in your life, it really can’t get much better! 😉 Carol
“wearing these by the weekend”! Hahahahaha. Yes, I suspect he will. You two have great hearts! Of course we will need pictures of that for next week!
HA! I’m not tempted at all by the four square block! It would be a quick quilt, if I needed one. And of course it would be easy to make. And it is cute. And I have the perfect fabric for it … (oh dear! Do I see another squirrel happening?) Nope … not me … not tempted at all …
I wish my feet were smaller … I WANT the elmo socks!!!
Your cake is perfect! Make sure you hang it up – then you can celebrate all year long! 🙂
And the kids … too cute! Loved the slide show!
Happy Quilting! 🙂
I am a sock person – wish those came in big-girl sizes. 😉
Is there a pattern available for that b-day cake block? Perfect for gift giving – all the sweetness without the calories – HA!
That birthday block is adorable….may need to stash a few of those for quilty friends….and oh those bell bottoms – no one ever looked so good!
Cute socks! Dominick and Addison always make me smile. Oh you enabler…..will forgo temptation and avoid Missouri Star and Jenni.
Adorable! Cute socks too.
that is a cute block – I subscribe to too many things and recently unsubscribed to a lot and not my mail box seems empty!
Super cute! Now I can start the day…I wouldn’t be able to hold out the socks for Christmas either, I’d be busting them out immediately…those two make my week! Thank you! I subscribe to the Daily Missouri Temptation as well, sigh…so hard to say no…
